“Women are the real architects of society.”
International Women's Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity. IICMR- MCA celebrated International Women's Day on 8th March 2022 under the ASR initiative with great pomp.
Ms Monika Gole, National player Shivkalin Martial arts was the chief guest for the programme. The program started with the salutation of Maa Saraswati. Dr Deepali Sawai, Director IICMR wished everyone a Happy Women’s Day and spoke about gender parity, how women are equal to men at any task. Ms Renu Mathew, HOD- IICMR MCA shared some positive stories showcasing gender equality. Chief guest Miss. Monika spoke about how self-defence is possible by having a presence of mind. The Guest along with her team demonstrated various Shivkalin martial arts like lathi- Kathi, Talwar, Dandpatta to the audience. It was a wonderful experience.
Games were conducted for the lady faculty members and for the girl students by the MCA I year boy student representatives Mr. Manoj and Mr. Nikhil. Miss. Vaishanvee Patil gave a speech on the changing role of women in a family. Miss Minal N. rendered a beautiful poem. The programme also witnessed singing and dance performances by Miss. Neha A.i , Miss Megha N. and Mr.Yash . All the ladies felt privileged and enjoyed the evening. As a token of gratitude, there was a songs medley by the IICMR MCA and MBA faculty members. The programme culminated with a vote of thanks by Miss. Neha and the high tea served under the coordination Mr. Ganesh Naik and Adarsh Agarwal. Mr. Yash Shrivastav and Mr. Rutik M. compeered the event. The entire event was coordinated by Ms. Vandana Pednekar, ASR coordinator IICMR MCA.
